The Practical Guide “Preparing the
Release of Detainees” was Published
At the beginning of September 2007 the
Institute for Penal Reform published
the practical guide “Preparing the Release
of Detainees”. The authors of the guide
are the psychologists Nicoletta Canter – university
lecturer, State University “Aleco Russo” from
Balti, Adrian Vulpescu – Rehabilitation
Center from Gaiesti, Diana Postu – university
lecturer, Moldova State University, Iuliana
Adam – Department of Penitentiary Institutions.
The guide is designed for the social
workers and the psychologists employed
within the Penitentiary Institutions
of the Republic of Moldova, as well for
all specialists in the field. It aims
at informing them, thus helping to decrease
the recidivism and to reintegrate detainees
in the community.
The guide contains relevant information
concerning the resources necessary to
conciliation and assistance, working
methods and techniques, assessment of
individual needs of detainees, as well
as the plan of intervention and supervision
of detainees.
The book will be delivered to workers
from Legal Bodies, Penitentiary Institutions,
as well as to all Community Institutions
free of charge.
