Round Table "Social Reintegration of Persons Released From Detention Facilities in Falesti District"

On July 5th 2007 the Institute for Penal Reform with the financial support of Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA) and Moldova Soros Foundation within the project "STRENGTHENING CIVIL SOCIETY IN MOLDOVA: MARGINALIZED GROUPS. SOCIAL RE-INTEGRATION OF EX-DETAINEES" organized the round table "Social reintegration of persons released from detention facilities in Falesti district".

The objective of this event consisted in initiating the activity of the Community Justice Center from Edinet in the field of social reintegration of persons released from detention facilities. As participants were invited representatives of the Courtroom from Edinet district, Prosecutor's office, Local Public Administration, Employment Agency, Police Department, Department of Social Assistance etc. After a general presentation of the experience of the Community Justice Center from Balti and Chisinau, Mrs. Nicoleta Cantemir - director of CJC Balti presented the beneficiary's profile: problems and solutions. On top of that, the mechanism of interaction between the institutions involved and the institutions which are to be involved in the process of social reintegration of ex-detainees was discussed. Within the round table the experience of the Community Justice Centers from Chisinau and Balti was presented.
