Training in Fundrasing

During the period of 15-17 of July instant, in Vadul-lui-Voda city training in fundraising was organized by the Institute of Penal Reform within the project "Promoting alternatives to detention" with the financial support of Moldova SOROS Foundation.

Experts from the Center for Training and Organizational Consultancy and representatives of the Community Justice Centers from Chisinau, Orhei, Ungheni, Cahul, Balti, Falesti, Soroca, Edinet and Rezina districts participated at the training.

The agenda for the first day included the short presentation of the Community Justice Centers from the Republic. Therefore the members of each Center presented enterprises and the existing NGO's from the district, followed by discussions vis-à-vis cooperation with the potential donors.

The activities carried out the next day "Identifying local resources in implementing the concept of community justice', aimed at informing the participants about the concept of Fundraising, strategies and mechanisms such as: grants, individual and collective donations, special events. The activities were coordinated by the experts Angela Vacaru and Tatiana Taralunga within the Center for Training and Organizational Consultancy. By the end of the day the participants were involved in practical activities. In order to get any optimal results, as tasks to be followed served: seeking for proper strategy for each Community Justice Center, identifying the mechanisms of Fundraising suitable for each district, drawing up direct applications to potential financiers.

The third day played host to more practical activities. Therefore the participants divided in 3 groups (according to territorial regions - Northern, Southern and Central) had the task to identify strategies of seeking for local funds.

The conclusion included the specification of the following forms of fundraising: individual and collective donations, providing services for money, persuade to participate in charity actions, TV and radio broadcast and local mass-media, as well as involving the ex-detainees in handicraft markets.
